Our People

Paul Amor BA (Hons), ACII, ASFA

Paul entered the world of financial services a couple of years after leaving Manchester University in 1976. Apart from a year off to travel round the world with his wife Louise in 1988/9, he has been in the financial services sector ever since.

En route to becoming a director of Castlebridge, his path took him to Birmingham, London, Kingston upon Thames and Derby. It was in Derby that he first met and worked with Phil and Keith and he later joined Phil in the business that evolved into Castlebridge in 1997.

Paul has two teenage sons (Richard and Henry) who are both as mad about cricket as their Dad.  However, this shared sporting interest doesn’t extend to them also being loyal (and in Paul’s case long suffering) supporters of Swindon Town FC.
Why Swindon Town? Ask Paul – but only if you’ve got three hours to spare!

Paul’s main area of expertise is centred on pensions and investments (in their various guises). He is, as anyone who knows him will testify, somewhat of an authority in the areas of pre and post retirement planning and inheritance tax planning and is praised by many of our clients for the guidance he provides for them in this complicated area of business.

Paul also advises Corporations, SMEs and self employed clients on director and staff pension schemes and employee benefits and the risk management / insurance needs of key personnel and shareholders.

Phil Craddock Cert PFS

Phil is a founder director of Castlebridge and has over 25 years' experience in the financial services industry. Phil has a wealth of knowledge in both the Personal and Corporate sectors and is trusted by and regularly advises many of the firm’s original clients from when Castlebridge started back in 1991.

In addition to Individual Portfolio Planning (often involving, income, capital gains or inheritance tax planning) Phil is also heavily involved in the Group Employee Benefits market and has a considerable and proven track record in this particular aspect of financial services.

Phil is married to Jenny and has three children - Chris, Nick & Rebecca. When family life allows, Phil likes nothing better than taking a long country walk with his Jack Russell dog (Moss) and enjoying the odd glass of good red wine (usually a Rioja) with good friends. Being a true Mancunian, Phil has been a lifelong supporter of Manchester City and enjoys those rare occasions when the blue half of the City have something to celebrate.

Phil's expertise lies primarily in the field of identifying (along with a client's tax and / or legal advisors) optimum investment strategies that mitigate liability to income, capital gains or inheritance taxes. Phil develops highly creative and informed strategies that utilise all the various opportunities laid down in current legislation.
